Subaru XV Ride Day

BajaBoard teamed up with Subaru and Bike NOW for the ultimate fun day out - so how was it?

In short, AMAZING! We had such a blast working with Subaru for the launch of their All New XV. They are a great group of people to work with and their facilities at Docklands in Melbourne are definitely some of the best in the world.

Onto the event... firstly, we were graced with the best winter weather Melbourne could have hoped for. After a rainy week, Saturday turned into a beautiful sunny day. The people rolled into the Subaru STI Docklands Centre to ride our boards, drive the New XV, and try the latest Specialized bikes.

It was an event not to be missed and those that came were not disappointed. The Snag Society provided hot sizzling sausages, an Instagram booth captured every moment for eternity, Red Bull was aplenty, and all three vehicles (cars, bikes, and boards) got a really good workout.

With BajaBoards running hot all day, riders were able to test out our four wheel drive boards on the very special Subaru track. The track held at the Docklands facilities was perfect for our boards. Riders could try the board over sand, gravel, rock, dirt, and even concrete beams if they were up for it. This track that Subaru has built is very unique as almost every part of it feels like you could be in a different part of the world - a Japanese garden, the Sahara desert, or a rocky bike track.

It provided a great scene for first timers. Smiles went around the track and some people just keep going. Some riders simply wanted more! The staff at the Docklands Interactive Centre were super awesome and let us overtime. We had such a great time that were were there almost two hours after the official close of the event. Thanks again to the Subaru staff for being amazing.

Speaking of amazing, the BajaBoard team received tonnes of comments about the amazing Subaru Centre. "This place is huge", "This place is amazing", "I had no idea how grand this was". It's a compliment to David and the team at Subaru for such an awesome showcase.

Now, whilst we didn't get a drive in the XV car - we left that to all our guests - we did get to try out Specialized's new electric bikes. Unlike our boards, these bikes are pedal assist, so you still have to be riding the bike for the motor to kick in. They are super fun and interesting to ride, very different feel to a normal mountain bike. If you haven't had the chance to ride one of these, get down to one of Bike NOW's Melbourne events; they often have ride days to try out new bikes.

All in all, it was a fantastic day, lots of people really enjoyed it, and did we mention that it doesn't stop there? One lucky winner and their mate will receive the ultimate off-road adventure experience with our three great products - Subaru XV, BajaBoard G4X, and Bike NOW. We're looking forward to showing you how to really ride our boards! The guys and girls at Subaru will be showing these two lucky people how to handle a car off-road style and the team from Bike NOW will provide tips of getting the best ride from your bike.

Lastly, we had one final project with Subaru for this weekend, and it was this board. Let us know what you think in the comments below. We think it looks rather rad next to the WRX!

We can't wait to team up Subaru again and we're looking forward to go on this awesome adventure. Stay tuned on Instagram for more great photos of the event.
